Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, responded to a comment attributed to Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Prior to the 2023 general elections, Ayu had on Wednesday referred to those clamoring for his resignation as “children.”
The PDP national chairman, who reiterated he would not step down, went on to say that he would not permit those demanding for his ouster to ruin the party.

In his response to the statement on Thursday, Wike criticized Ayu for acting ungrateful and haughty after receiving assistance to become the party’s National Chairman.
The governor of Rivers State urged Ayu to behave honorably and step down from his position as promised.
There are rumors that Ayu pledged to leave her position if the party’s presidential candidate came from the north.
Wike added that the N14 billion the main opposition party made from the sale of primary ballots in May might be used to the party’s advantage.

This was said by the governor of Rivers State at the opening of the Omerelu Internal Roads in the state’s Ikwerre Local Government Area.
