Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, met with his counterparts from Benue and Oyo States, Samuel Ortom and Seyi Makinde, once more in London, United Kingdom, as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, crisis worsens.

Political observers speculate that the Friday meeting may have anything to do with the PDP problem despite the fact that its specifics have not been made public.

Recall that efforts to patch up Wike and Atiku Abubakar’s relationship, which deteriorated following the PDP primary election, have been challenging.

Makinde, who had been on his yearly vacation since the previous meeting, reportedly arrived first, followed by Wike and Ortom, who was en route to the United States of America.

It was heard that Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, might join the PDP governors in the UK to wrap off the previous meeting.

Remember that on August 23, Governor Seyi Makinde, his counterpart from Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, and other PDP leaders from Governor Wike’s camp met with Asiwaju in London.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Governor Wike’s failure to secure the party’s nomination for the 2023 presidential election has reportedly continued to split the opposition PDP.

Wike was defeated by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in the PDP presidential primary on May 28 in Abuja.

Atiku’s choice of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate also destroyed his hopes of being the party’s vice presidential nominee.

As Governor Wike vowed to make sure Atiku loses the upcoming elections, the development has continued to inflame things in his camp.
