Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has denied rumors that he is planning to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

This was announced by him on Thursday during the gala finale of a weeklong event honoring the 31st anniversary of Abia State, which was held in Umuahia.

Ikpeazu, a crucial ally of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, urged the PDP leadership to prioritize national unity, security, and inclusion before the 2023 presidential election.

“However, as a leader of the Igbo, I want to draw the attention of my party to the fact that there are three things the leadership of Nigeria needs.

“One is security, we need to arrest the slide in terms of insecurity. We need to fast track socio-economic development and national cohesion and inclusiveness.”
