Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has revised the Obidient movement in response to the opposition parties’ constant criticism.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Obi, the former governor of the state of Anambra, gave the movement a new definition on Saturday via the microblogging service Twitter.

The “Obidient” movement is a group of Nigerians who have sworn allegiance to Obi, however they have recently come under fire from opposing party members who accuse them of being irrationally enraged and harassing non-supporters online.

In the meantime, Bola Tinubu’s campaign for president of the All Progressives Congress, APC, recently requested that Peter Obi, a candidate for president of the Labour Party, LP, instruct his supporters to stop disseminating incorrect information.

Speaking on behalf of the former governor of Lagos State, Bayo Onanuga, Director of Media and Communications for the Tinubu Campaign Organization (TCO), claimed that LP backers had been disseminating false information to the public, harming the APC candidate’s reputation.

An previous story said that the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, wrote a letter to the APC presidential candidate pleading with him to resign so that Peter Obi may run and take care of his health.

Later, Akufo-Addo refuted the report.

Reacting to the news, the TCO media Director asked Obi to restrain his supporters who are damaging his principal’s reputation.
