The Labour Party (LP) has said that in order to prevent vote-rigging in the next 2023 election, they will enlist the assistance of nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals.

Barr Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party, stated that the party would do everything in its power to close any openings for election cheating.

The doctors and medical experts who support the campaigns of Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed visited the national chairman’s office and made this statement.

Abure informed the gathering that he needs a list of all medical professionals nationwide so that they can represent the party at the polling places.

He said: “The level of work and the amount of passion you have out into this project is unprecedented. Medical Doctors, Nurses and other health personnel will act as our agents in their polling units, “

“We are ahead of the people who are planning to rig the election at the polling units level. The current electoral act has made our votes secured and stop rigging at the polling unit through the electronic transmission of election results.

“Send the list of Doctors and nurses at the polling units since they can’t be compromised at the polling. They will serve as our agents. If the medical people are there, our votes will count.”

The LP will win the upcoming election, according to Abure, who added that when they finally reveal their intentions for the election, other parties would be shocked and move aside for them.

Dr. Uche Uzoukwu, the founder of Docs&Medics4PeterObi, responded to Abure by claiming that their association, which has members in every voting district, will persuade 100,000 Nigerian medical professionals to encourage more than 30 million voters to support the LP.

“We are now into town hall meetings and medical outreaches. We call the people for medical outreaches and after treating them, we tell the people the labour party logo and encourage them to collect their PVCs and vote,” he said.
