Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential nominee, has called the present crisis tearing the party apart a “family disagreement.”
Anaedoonline.ng reports Atiku presented the proposal on Thursday during the PDP’s 97th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.
However, the former vice president assured everyone that he is still devoted to finding a solution to the dispute, calling it “typical in political families.”

This news source reports that the PDP is in crisis following the selection of Atiku as the party’s presidential candidate for 2023. Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, who lost the primary election in Abuja in May, feels cheated and has made a number of demands, the most important of which is the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as national chairman.
There have been numerous attempts to end the problem, but none have been successful.
However, Atiku reaffirmed his resolve to resolving the situation permanently on Thursday.
“I can guarantee you that we are committed to finding internal solutions to those problems,” he said.

“There aren’t any major differences; this is normal.”
The party’s constitution should be followed, the presidential candidate urged, in order to resolve the problems internally.
