Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth, a number of changes will take place in the United Kingdom.

Since she became the monarch in 1952, her image has been on several products, including as money and stamps, and has entered people’s daily life.

However, the United Kingdom will experience a number of changes in the following ways after her passing and the coronation of a new King.

BREAKING NEWS: Queen Elizabeth Is Dead

1. Money: All of the country’s current bills and coins, which bear the image of the Queen, will be replaced with new ones bearing the face of the King after the Queen’s passing.

Money with the image of the Queen will eventually be removed from circulation, although in the interim it will still be regarded as lawful tender.

2. Stamps: Just like banknotes, stamps also bear the picture of the Queen; consequently, fresh stamps bearing the King’s face must be produced.

The ones with the Queen’s image will gradually disappear.

3. Passport: A close examination of the UK passport reveals the following statement: Her Britannic Majesty’s Secretary of State requests and requires all those it may concern to grant the bearer free passage without hindrance or restriction and to provide the bearer with any assistance and protection that may be required.

In order to reflect the new King’s use of male pronouns, the new passports will be altered. But passports won’t likely need to be replaced until after they’ve run out.

4. The National Anthem: The national anthem will no longer be God Save the Queen; instead, it will return to its original form, which was God Save the King for a male monarch.

5. Uniforms: In the UK, many uniforms, particularly those worn by police officers and the military, include the Queen’s cypher.

The new King’s cypher will probably be added to these clothes in the future.

On Thursday night, Buckingham Palace revealed that Queen Elizabeth II had died “peacefully” at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle.
