Atiku Abubakar, Shehu Sani React Over Gunmen Attack On Ifeanyi Ubah

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Shehu Sani, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have denounced the thugs’ attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy on Sunday.

According to an earlier report by Anaedoonline.ng, on September 11, unidentified gunmen ambushed the senator who represents the Anambra South Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly.

Yesterday’s attack on the Enugwu-Ukwu route in Anambra State apparently resulted in the deaths of several of the politician’s supporters, including security personnel, and numerous injuries.

A few hours later, Atiku, who is running for president of Nigeria in 2023, denounced the attack in its entirety on his verified Twitter page.

The PDP’s presidential hopeful expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased and maimed, noting that there is still much to be done to ensure the safety of Nigerians.

Atiku’s tweet reads: “The attack on the convoy of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah stands condemned. My condolences go to the families of those injured and killed in the attack. I share my sympathy with the Distinguished Senator. May the souls of the departed Rest In Peace.

“We’ve got work to do to ensure that safety and security return to our dear country.”

In a separate tweet, Sani who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly also condemned the attack describing it as unfortunate.

The former lawmaker said: “The deadly attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the killing of his aides is unfortunate, tragic and condemnable.”
