In an electorate survey performed by NOI Polls and commissioned by the ANAP Foundation, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has a significant lead over the other candidates.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the foundation’s chairman, Atedo Peterside, released a statement on Thursday in which he announced the poll’s outcome.

According to the announcement, the survey indicated that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, Obi, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would compete for the presidency (APC).

The statement also described the former Governor of Kano State as a ‘dark horse’ in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The statement read in part: “The results showed a significant lead for Mr Peter Obi with 21% of voters proposing to vote for him if the presidential election were to be conducted today, and 13% each proposing to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who are both tied in second place. Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso was a distant fourth with 3% of voters proposing to vote for him.

“Obi’s 8 percentage point lead at this early stage is significant, but not sufficient to separate him completely from a leading pack of candidates scoring 21%, 13% and 13% respectively.
