Ngige called the attack “atrocious, cruel, and terrible” in a statement on Wednesday, noting that it had disturbed the state’s previous period of comparatively quiet conditions.

The minister charged security agencies to go after the attackers and bring them to justice. He also thanked God for sparing Ubah’s life.

The statement reads: “Many had thought reprieve has come from the dreadful darkness that lately enveloped the State.

“We must not allow that daylight horror to trip our determination to the cross-hair of another cycle of tragedies. Evil must not win.
