On Thursday, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) denounced the murderous attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy, who represents the Anambra South Senatorial District.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, unidentified gunmen attacked the leader of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) on Sunday in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State along the Enugwu-Ukwu route.

Ubah’s convoy was ambushed by the attackers, who then started shooting at his cars, but the senator was able to flee the scene unharmed. The incident claimed the lives of some police officers and the lawmaker’s assistants.

Identities Of Persons Killed During Attack On Ifeanyi Ubah’s Convoy Revealed

In a statement released in response to the attack by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, IPOB dissociated itself from the brutal assault and referred to any attempts to do so as evil.

They emphasized that the attack was too unpleasant and strange for Ndigbo and had never occurred before in the history of Igboland as they termed it as savage, frightening, and unjustified.

When asked who was responsible for the horrific attack, IPOB said that it was on the trail of the criminals and would soon reveal their identities.

The statement read: “The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, has condemned in strong terms, the barbaric and wicked attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and other individuals in Enugu Ukwu in Njilkoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, which was said to have claimed the lives of over three Policemen and three civilians.”
