A commercial bus driver in Anambra State was fatally macheted by a man from Enugu State by the name of Akpa Lebechukwu.
According to information obtained by Anmaedoonline.ng, the event took place at Okija Junction in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, where the driver who was returning from Lagos and traveling to Imo State had stopped to pick up some passengers.
The man stepped into the vehicle after the driver had dropped off passengers and attacked him with a machete, according to DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police command, who confirmed the event in a press statement made available to Newsmen.

Ikenga said: “Today (Sunday) 18/9/2022 at about 12:05pm, police arrested one Akpa Lebechukwu ‘M’ 25yrs from Enugu State, and recovered one machete from him.
“The suspect attacked the driver of a commercial vehicle on transit from Lagos to Imo State at Okija junction, along Onitsha/Owerri Expressway.
“The victim parked to drop a passenger before Lebechukwu jumped into the vehicle and macheted the driver. The driver was rushed to the hospital before he was declared dead by a medical doctor on duty.”
However, it was unclear what the attacker was trying to do and it was impossible to determine whether he was insane.

The immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department was ordered, according to Ikenga’s comment from the Anambra State Police Commissioner.
