Osinbajo Pays Tribute To Queen Elizabeth As She’s Laid To Rest Today

The late Queen Elizabeth II, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, was a monarch for all seasons who brought people from all over the world together.

This was revealed by Osinbajo on Sunday during a brief tribute at Lancaster House.

At various times on Sunday, he joined other foreign leaders in paying their respects to the late British monarch at the Queen’s lying in state.

Several foreign leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and other royals and Heads of State and Government from around the world, came to Westminster Hall to observe Osinbajo lying in state.

Osinbajo’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

In the condolence register at Lancaster House, Osinbajo noted that “Nigeria joins the government and people of the UK, the Commonwealth and rest of the world in expressing our sincere condolence to the royal family on the passing of a monarch for all seasons. May the Lord bless her memory.”

Later, Osinbajo and the UK Foreign Secretary held a bilateral discussion where they talked about security issues and ways to strengthen bilateral trade connections, particularly by giving Nigerian companies more possibilities and assisting the nation’s environmental goals.

Osinbajo will also attend the Queen’s Funeral Service at Westminster Abbey on Monday morning.
