A minor crisis occurred on Sunday when a herbalist broke into Niamey and spilt blood on Kwara United FC players before their confederation cup match against AS Douanes FC.
According to reports, the Kwara United squad won the first leg at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Ilorin, the state capital of Kwara, by a score of three goals to zero.
The second leg, which was played at the Senyi Kountche stadium in Niamey, however, took a dramatic turn when an unidentified herbalist barged into the area after the players arrived and doused them in blood as they exited the team bus.

The herbalist’s companion was also holding a black goat, and both were wearing green and white clothing with a turban over their faces.
The chairman of the club Kumbi Titiloye, was also captured instructing the players to return to the team bus, insisting that the team is not going to play.
The video was shared on the verified Twitter handle of Kwara United FC, with the caption; ‘‘CAFCC HAPPENING NOW AT NIGER!
“AS Douanes hired herbalists poured blood on @KwaraUnitedFC players as they are about entering the field. The 2 herbalists, 1 with keg of blood & the other with goat performed the act when the players are coming down from the bus. NO single policeman.”
