Some of the APC’s employees in the National Secretariat claim that they are not being paid by the party.
Some employees bemoaned the fact that, under Abdullahi Adamu’s direction as party chairman, their welfare was not assured.
Some disgruntled party members questioned how the APC used the funds it received from the sale of primary forms.
Recall that the party set a price of N100m for its presidential forms, N50m for governorships, N20m for senatorial candidates, N10m for House of Representatives candidates, and N2m for candidates for state house of assembly.
They had nothing to carry home for Eid-al-Fitri, according to a member of the APC National Secretariat who talked with Newsmen.
He said, “Rather, the leadership of the secretariat wrote to governors to make provisions for the Sallah package.
“Consequently, the governors gave it a deaf ear pointing to billions generated from the sale of forms. That is the situation.”
He has been employed at the National Secretariat since the party’s merger, according to another staff member who spoke about the financial crisis in the ruling party.
He mentioned that they had received payments no later than the 25th of each month over the years, and he added that they also receive a Sallah bonus.
The employee said that they received all of these advantages when Adams Oshiomhole served as the party’s national chairman.
As they occasionally receive payment on the 23rd of the month, he continued, the caretaker committee of the party, chaired by Mai Mala Buni, also looked after them.
