Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, held a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state chapter emergency stakeholders meeting on Thursday.
This is the first of its sort since his failed bid for the presidency and the accompanying internal crisis that shook the party nationwide.
The meeting’s agenda was not made public, but it might have something to do with a state instruction on what to do next after Wike and his strategy team withdrew from the presidential campaign council of the party’s nominee, former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

Party officials, state executive council members, local government chairmen, and a few other party stalwarts are among those invited to the conference.
Remember that the governor had committed to be transparent about some of the reasons that sparked the controversy after the presidential primary results and Atiku’s declaration while choosing his vice presidential running partner. The governor feels deceived as a result.
Additionally, Wike is credited with adding, “Nothing has happened yet, but something will happen shortly.”
Invitees are still arriving at the Rivers State Government House as of the time this article was filed.
