An attack on the Abia Police Command’s stop-and-search team in Umuahia yesterday night has been confirmed.
Geoffrey Ogbonna, the police public relations officer, reported that two policemen were hurt and their weapons were taken away.
The State CID office was not attacked, according to the PPRO, but rather individuals conducting stop-and-searches in front of the State CID office at Umuagu, located on Uzuakoli Road, Umuahia.
The command therefore pleaded for information as it stated that investigations into the incident had commenced.
