CSOs Criticise Government Over $13 Billion Paris Club Reimbursements

The 36 state governors’ refusal to pay consultants involved in the $13 billion Paris Club refunds has been criticised by a coalition of human rights organisations as being dishonest.

They said that Nigerians should reject the Nigerian Governors’ Forum’s demand on preventing the payment of consultants who assisted in the recovery of the fund.

The CSOs said there were “deliberate efforts being made by certain interested parties to obfuscate the facts in order to direct the narratives to suit their nefarious purposes and interests.”

ANAEDOONLINE.NG reported that $418 million Paris Club debt refund fee has been a subject of controversy between the NGF and, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami in recent weeks.
