Adamu Garba, a former candidate for president, has come under criticism for disparaging Peter Obi, the nominee of the Labour Party (LP).
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chastised Peter Obi for declining to wear a northern outfit during his recent visit to some stakeholders in Kano via his social media account on Friday.
Peter Obi, according to Garba, did not care to identify with northerners and did not take off his shoes when seated next to elders, which is the height of contempt in northern culture.

He wrote; ”Peter Obi in Kano. Out of sheer disrespect, he didn’t even care to dress in local attire to identify with the people of the North nor even remove his shoes.
“Every other person had his shoes removed except Peter Obi. This is the height of disrespect to the northern culture.”
Social media users took offense to Garba’s criticism of Peter Obi’s appearance in Kano and called him out for his remarks about the LP presidential contender.
They argue that dressing regionally is deception and praise Peter Obi for seeming genuine and not acting hypocritically.
