The Catholic Church’s choice to name a new leader to oversee the Adoration Ministry’s operations in Enugu State has not been warmly received by the faithful.
This happened when Anaedoonline.ng reported that the new priest who had been chosen to take Father Ejike Mbaka’s place was being surrounded by worshipers.
Father Anthony Amadi has been chosen by the Catholic Church authorities to serve as the new Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), as previously reported by Anaedoonline.ng.

Father Mbaka is doing this as he travels to the monastery.
However, after the announcement, Sunday worshipers almost surrounded Father Amadi, who had to be escorted to safety by the local security personnel.
They erupted into shouts such as “we say no, we say no, we no gree.”
Announcing the development and his replacement, Father Mbaka said he is going to the monastery to continue the disciplinary measures against him.
He said: “So, while I proceed to the monastery to continue with the remaining disciplinary exercises, as directed; I wouldn’t know how long; but the church has appointed Fr Anthony Amadi, one of us, to be overseeing all affairs of the ministry, to be assisted by other priests, pending my return, by the grace of God.”
