PDP Forum Pass Vote of No Confidence On Ayu, Others Gives Them 48hrs To Resign

Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has lost the support of a forum of candidates and aspirants for the party.

On Monday, the Forum also denounced the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and Deputy National Chairman North, Umar Damagum.

They threatened legal action unless the party formally resigned from government within the following 48 hours.

The Forum requested that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) take care of their request.

The Forum vowed to file a lawsuit to remove the three executives from their positions at their meeting in Abuja.

They asserted that the party’s governorship primaries in Zamfara State and Ogun State were invalidated as a result of the leadership of the party’s conduct.

The Forum claims that there are still numerous such instances pending in court.

The party was criticized by the Forum for not investing the proceeds from the selling of nomination forms.

They bemoaned the fact that Nigerians now perceive the party as a “come and chop or share the money party” due to the way it handled the funds and said that Ayu’s dismissal will assist the party project an image of integrity.

The Forum said that it has already sent a strong-worded petition to the party NEC and demanded the following which includes; “the immediate resignation of the trio, the appointment of the highest office as Acting National Chairman before the allegation can be investigated as Ayu, Anyanwu and Damagum cannot be a judge in their case, notice to commence legal action in 48 hours if steps are not taken to address the issues.”
