During an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Oyo State on Tuesday, a bunch of hoodlums allegedly launched an attack on the crowd of party supporters.
According to accounts, when the hoodlums struck, members of the opposition party in the state were holding a rally to show their support for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, the governorship candidate for Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, and other candidates.
The Chairman of the Park Management System, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, alias Auxiliary, and his boys were implicated by APC backers.

Speaking about the incident, Folarin said that Governor Seyi Makinde and Auxiliary were responsible for the attack in a statement following the occurrence.
He said Auxiliary attacked the procession from behind when he was aware that the candidates of the party who were also among the crowd were at the front.
The statement read in part, “I’ve just been informed that Makinde’s thugs led by notorious Lamidi Auxiliary have launched coordinated attacks on our members and support groups.
“Auxiliary personally led the attacks at Iyana Labiran enroute Oje in Ibadan. As peace loving and law-abiding citizens, we won’t take the law into our own hands.
“Not minding the deadly attacks on our members by Makinde’s agents of darkness, we’re continuing our walk for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shettima. The injured members are receiving treatments at an undisclosed hospital.”

Auxiliary responded to the claim by refuting it through Emiola Jelili, the Park Management System’s (PMS) Public Relations Officer.
The PMS claimed that because the opposition party members were exercising their constitutional right to hold rallies throughout the town, its members had no justification for interfering with them.
He insisted that the APC should stop bringing up their chairman’s name in times of crisis, saying that the accusation was intended to damage their leader’s reputation.
