Members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP’s National Working Committee have appealed to all party faithful who have expressed various views and perspectives to sheathe their swords and unify to secure the party’s success in the upcoming general elections.

The members reaffirmed their support for the 97th NEC meeting’s resolve to depict the Party as a cohesive family in the future.

Yunana Iliya, Chairman of the party’s National Ex-officials Forum, representing the North-Central zone, made the call at a press conference held on Thursday at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

The forum represents 36 elected leaders of the party from the country’s six geo-political zones.

Chief Iliya implored all leaders and members with one issue or the other to take advantage of the internal differences resolution mechanism provided by the Party’s Constitution.

The chairman noted, “As our great party approaches the 2023 general elections, we have been confronted with very disturbing and destabilizing scenarios playing out in our Party against the plea by our presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, that admonished us to be very careful in our utterances, our posturing and body language in presenting to the public the internal issues of our Party.”

Other members of the forum include Mr Nicholas Sheliza for North-East, Chief Chinemeram Madu for South-East, David Kolawole for South-West, Ibrahim Jigawa for North-West, and Chief Patrick Agbe for South-South.
