The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the flag-off of its presidential campaign that was set for Monday in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This is in spite of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the opposition, launching its presidential campaign in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.

The APC campaign launch has been delayed just days after Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, arrived back in the nation.

There are hints that the high-level meetings between stakeholders are the reason the campaign was delayed.

Recall that at the party’s national secretariat, a tripartite meeting of the APC governors, the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), and the National Working Committee of the party was chaired by Abdullahi Adamu.

The six National Vice Chairmen were scheduled to go on a delayed zonal tour, and the ruling party scheduled the meeting to discuss the logistics of the next “APC National Conference,” which it plans to hold before the year is up.

The stakeholders also talked on the campaign council’s makeup.

APC Postponed Start Of Its Campaign Indefinitely

The presidential campaign is a marathon, according to Bayo Onanuga, the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s director of media and publicity.

He added that it has already started in a number of states, including Lagos, Katsina, Benue, Kogi, and Lagos.

But according to Onanuga, the start of the presidential campaign will depend on the day the party formally installs its PCC.

The party’s Women Wing will now be officially inaugurated tomorrow at the Presidential Villa, despite the fact that the presidential council has not yet been established.

Onanuga merely said, “No sir,” when asked if the campaign would still be launched the next day.
