Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria, dissociated himself from the reports on Sunday that he had praised Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential contender.
Obasanjo asserts that, in his experience, only those with military training make effective people managers.
Obasanjo disassociated himself from the report in a statement issued through his spokesperson, Kehinde Akinyemi.
The statement’s elder statesman made the point that he couldn’t have made it at the expense of his honorable military career.

A group called “National Patriots” claimed in a widely shared WhatsApp message that Tinubu was referred to as a super politician by the former president of Nigeria.
Obasanjo was quoted saying, “If you are looking for a thoroughbred politician of masters class, visit Lagos Bourdillon.”
The elder statesman said that only individuals trained by the armed forces could properly manage men and materials.
Obasanjo said, “I cannot disparage my noble profession for politics that has no formal training. This is false and fake.”
