Early on Monday morning, a fire completely destroyed the Kogi State House of Assembly building in Lokoja’s Crusher Area.

Anaedoonline.ng discovered that a fire tore through the complex’s roof, severely damaging the house’s floor.

Among the first people to arrive at the assembly complex were the State Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara, and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mathew Kolawole.

The cause of the fire has not been revealed as of the time this article was filed.

While discussing the incident, Kolawole stated that he believes there was sabotage, but he was unable to pinpoint the source.

When questioned if the fire incident had anything to do with the recent events involving the Assembly and the Dangote group, the Speaker responded that it was up to the security to make that determination.

The Kogi cement plant’s ownership has been a source of contention between Dangote and the Kogi State Government.

In response to the recent invasion of the cement plant in Obajana, the management of Dangote Cement Plc has threatened to file a lawsuit.

The speaker in his statement said, “We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward.”
