According to Ibrahim Magu, a former interim chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), his dismissal from office was the result of corruption retaliating.

At an award ceremony held in his honor on Sunday in Abuja by the Northern Female Students Association, Magu made this statement.

The head of the EFCC claimed that the prosecution of corrupt individuals during his leadership of the anti-corruption organization may have contributed to his departure.

“I am a victim of corruption fighting back, but I am happy that recent events are revealing the truth to Nigerians,” he said.

The former EFCC chief thanked the organization for giving him the “Achiever par Excellence” award and expressed his happiness at receiving it.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Magu was detained, arrested, and suspended from his duties as the anti-graft agency’s acting chairman in July 2020 after testifying before a panel looking into allegations of severe misconduct.
