Ebere Udeagu, a former deputy governor of Imo State, has been declared deceased.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the depressing incident was confirmed on Monday by Ikedi Ohakim, a former governor of Imo state.

Ohakim posted a message of sympathy to the former politician’s family and friends on his social media page after learning of the death, which occurred at the age of 79.

He expressed sadness on the passing of the former Deputy Governor known as Chinemeze.

Ohakim added that the Okigwe zone, Imo State, and all of Nigeria had lost a quintessential elder statesman who was committed to a better future in a brief condolence message delivered to newsmen in Owerri on Monday by one of his assistants, Emmanuel Chukwu.

Former All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) vice presidential candidate Udeagu supported former governor Achike Udenwa in his governorship from 1999 to 2007.

On Monday morning in Owerri, Udeagu, a trained water engineer from Ihube in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, passed away.
