The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) members are anticipating President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision over the Federal Government’s no-work, no-pay policy.

Since the eight-month strike began on February 14th, the federal government has declared that it will not pay the lecturers for services that were not provided.

There are signs that whether ASUU decides to end the strike or not would depend on President Buhari’s choice.

Another source who spoke on the development said, “It is only the President who can give that waiver at the moment. He has to forgive them. He is very hurt that they caused a delay for students.”

ASUU branches will begin voting on the likelihood of ending the strike today (Wednesday), however.
