Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta State and vice presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), paid Goodluck Jonathan a visit on Thursday.
Bala Mohammed, the governor of the state of Bauchi, and a few other representatives from the main opposition party also attended the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was disclosed by Adamu Sanusi Kobi, the governor of Bauchi State’s media advisor, who posted about the news on his Facebook page.

Before the federal elections in 2023, Jonathan and the PDP stakeholders reportedly convened at his home for consultation.
It was learned that key concerns pertaining to the PDP’s success in 2023 were also discussed by PDP stakeholders.
Leading PDP Excos and representatives of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign are among the other participants in the conference.
Speaking during the visit, the governor of Bauchi State referred to the late president Jonathan as a mentor and a person of integrity.
Mohammed asserted that Nigeria had significantly improved under the Jonathan administration and said the PDP would be happy to continue on his fatherly legacy.

Jonathan thanked the PDP participants for their visit in his response.
In addition, he prayed that they would fly safely to all of their destinations.
