It was previously reported that 8 of the 15 counts of terrorism-related charges against Kanu were dismissed by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court because they were either redundant or the prosecution’s evidence was lacking.

Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, the IPOB leader’s attorney, went to the Court of Appeal to ask for an order tossing the remaining seven counts of terrorism-related charges brought against his client.

However, D. Kaswe, Assistant Chief State Counsel from the Chambers of the Attorney-General of the Federation, had pleaded with the appellate Court to reject the appeal because it lacked merit.

On Thursday, a three-person panel presided over by Justice Jummai Hannatu of the Gombe Division began hearing the case.
