The Obajana cement plant, which was shut down by the Kogi State Assembly last week, has been ordered to reopen by the National Security Council.

This directive was one of the decisions made at a security meeting on Friday in Abuja.

The council also suggested that all legal action be taken to settle any disputes, emphasising that the government’s obligation to create jobs was non-negotiable.

The state government had claimed that available documents showed that the plant belonged to it 100 per cent, a claim refuted by the Dangote industries which claimed that the Kogi State Government had no stake whatsoever in the plant adding that the Kogi state government was not entitled to any dividend in the company.
