Labour Party Removes Ex-General Enenche, NLC, TUC Presidents From Presidential Campaign List

The Labour Party (LP) has stated that it will publish an additional list for its 2023 presidential campaign committee.

At the conclusion of the Expanded National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja, the National Chairman, Julius Abure, announced this.

The leadership made a few decisions and changes after meeting to discuss recent political activity.

Obi Admits Mistakes On Campaign List And Promises Corrections

Ayuba Wabba and Festus Osifo, the presidents of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), have been fired, according to Abure.

The former Director of Defense Information and Coordinator of Defense Media, retired general John Enenche, was also dropped, he added.

The chairman said they were removed from the campaign council because they were erroneously included.

“We acknowledge some omissions and misplacement of some names in the team.

“This will be corrected and a supplementary list released before the inauguration of the council.

“Also corrected is the erroneous inclusion of Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress members in the Campaign list.”

Abure reaffirmed the party’s commitment to women, youth, and social inclusion in response to criticisms of the list.

The LP also denounced the assaults on Peter Obi’s supporters in the states of Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau, Enugu, and Ebonyi.

According to rumors, Obasanjo might be helping Obi win the presidency in 2023. This week, the two met in Abuja.
