Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, has commended the Igbo ethnic group and characterized them as hardworking and hospitable people.

Ortom continued by saying that one quality that sets the Igbo people apart wherever they are is their commercial savvy.

The governor of Benue, who pledged not to remain silent about the slaughter of his people, claimed that the Igbo nation is distinct because they don’t indulge in such violent behavior but instead have a constructive influence on those around them.

According to Ortom, the Igbo people have the capacity to lead Nigeria and will provide value to the economy of the country.

“The Igbo are accommodating and hard working. They are a group that can live with other ethnic groups and not like those that are killing my people and they want me to keep quiet. I will never keep quiet concerning incessant attacks on my people by herdsmen until the authorities do the right thing. I will continue to speak against injustice,” he said.

Also, Ortom stated that no human being can threaten his 2023 senatorial ambition as he believes all power belongs to God and he gives it only to those he wants.

According to the Governor, “no one can threaten my senatorial ticket. A man can get nothing except it is given to him by God, I want to sincerely commend the Igbos in Benue and across the states for the strategy to empower the younger generation which is second to none.”
