Ebonyi State’s Governor David Umahi has announced intentions to appoint 1300 liaison officers throughout the state’s 13 local government areas and an additional 1300 assistants at the state level.

The appointments, according to the Ebonyi State, will bring new energy to the state’s activities and serve as impetuses for more rural integration in governance.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Umahi might be imitating Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, whose appointment of numerous aides recently drew criticism from a large audience.

He hinted that the state government will reach out to Ebonyians in Lagos, Aba, Anambra, Owerri and Abuja in another phase of its ongoing empowerment programmes.

“We will be doing empowerment for our brothers and sisters in Lagos, Anambra, Aba and Abuja in our next phase,” the governor said.

The governor urged applicants to take advantage of the present admissions processes to enroll in the university and announced that the David Umahi University of Health Sciences, Uburu, will be taken over in January 2023.

“Admission is going on in David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences. Let me say that there are a lot of miracles in that university and the school fees have been reduced,” Umahi said.

Remember that Governor Wike had increased the amount of Special Assistants on Political Units in the South-South from 28,000 to 50,000.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has reviewed the appointment of Special Assistants on Political Units from 28,000 (Twenty Eight Thousand) to 50,000 (Fifty Thousand), according to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Kelvin Ebiri.
