Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State, recalled how Peter Obi, the state’s then-governor, allegedly seized and held him in Anambra State in 2013.

El-Rufai claims that while he was in the Southeast state in 2013 as an All Progressives Congress (APC) representative to observe the bye-election for governor, he was harassed by security personnel at the State Governor’s direction.

The APC leader claimed that now that he is the governor of Kaduna State and that Obi, who is also the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, is visiting the state for talks ahead of the 2023 elections.
