All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu has responded to the accusations that have followed his remarks about Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai making a bad situation worse.

During an interactive session with the Arewa Joint Committee on Monday in Kaduna, Tinubu said that those who were making fun of his statement did not comprehend idioms and synonyms.

It would be recalled that Tinubu on Saturday while speaking at the Kaduna investment summit said: “I am openly begging Governor El-Rufai not to run away for additional Degrees like PhD or others. There are educated derelicts. We are not going to let you run away. Your vision, creativity and resilience in turning a ‘rotten situation into a bad one’ are necessary at this critical time and that is why we are here.”

Lots of people criticized the assertion, especially the opposition camps, but Tinubu said on Monday that his claim was accurate.

He commended El-Rufai for skillfully handling the unrest in Kaduna State and turning around a situation that many had given up on.

When many others had lost faith, he said that the Kaduna Governor drove terrorists from the state’s forests and made it livable. He went on to explain that this is what it means to turn a bad situation into a worse one.
