Northern Elders Forum have explained why they are meeting with presidential contenders from different political parties.
Meetings with presidential candidates are being held by the Northerner Elders Forum (NEF) and other important regional stakeholders to learn about each candidate’s specific plans for the area.
According to the elders, the meeting would offer a chance to speak with legislators and discuss the many issues facing the nation, particularly in the North.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, leading northern organizations on Saturday interrogated three potential candidates for president in the upcoming election in-depth on their goals for the nation and the area.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) Prince Adewole Adebayo both participated in the interactive session, which started on Saturday with the presidential candidate of the PRP, Kola Abiola.
Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the joint committee’s chairman, stated during the session that the interaction would provide the candidates a chance to explain their views and platforms as well as a chance for the North to choose the best flagbearer to support.
Today’s session will continue with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) as the next presidential candidate. Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) will then follow.
