Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has charged Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee, with plotting to divide the nation.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Keyamo leveled the charge in response to a remark made on Monday by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and a leader of the opposition PDP.

Obaseki claimed that if the APC’s Bola Tinubu wins the presidency in 2023, Nigeria would disintegrate in a speech at the PDP Governorship Campaign Council’s inauguration in Edo.

The governor continued, saying that if the APC wins re-election in 2023 after seven years of “bad performance,” Nigerians’ heads ought to be checked.

Tuesday, Keyamo said that Obaseki was mistaken when he claimed that Tinubu wanted to divide the country in a tweet from his verified Twitter account.

Following his claim that the North does not require a Yoruba or Igbo as President in 2023, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment concluded that Atiku is the one who wants to split Nigeria.

In a chameleonic manner, Keyamo said, the former vice president has also been offering the South-South and South-East Presidency in 2027 or 2031.

He wrote: “Your Excellency, I disagree. Your candidate that already asked Northerners not to vote for Yoruba or Igbo candidates and that has been promising both South-South and South East Presidency in 2027 or 2031 in a chameleonic way is the very person that wants to break up Nigeria. Chikena.”
