A few months before Canada’s 2023 general election, the All Progressive Council Presidential Election Council of Canada called on voters to beware of politicians bent on tricking people into taking power.

This was included in a statement released Wednesday by the council’s media director, Abiola Oshodi.

A campaign council was set up to work for the party and its candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinub to win the upcoming presidential election, according to a statement.

In the statement, the Chairman of the council, Jide Oladejo, who gave the warning after the inauguration of the campaign council in Canada, said Nigerians in the North American country were already supporting the APC candidate.

He said, “From the lots, only Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the wherewithal to give birth to a united and prosperous Nigeria come May 2023. The rot in the Nigeria’s system dragging Nigeria backward was caused by PDP’s years of maladministration.

“Electorate should be weary of politicians who are desperate to deceive the Nigerian public in order to take Nigeria to perpetual backwardness.”

The statement added that the council was ready to spread the tentacles of the APC nooks and carnies of Canada.

“The council is to ensure that a quantum of Nigerians in Canada are integrated into giving their support to the BAT/Shettima Presidency.

“The council would put measures to increase the general acceptability of the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu and his running mate, Sen. Shettima, especially outside the shores of Nigeria. Business of governing Nigeria come May 2023 cannot be left in the hands of those who are ready to take the country backwards,” it stated.
