Before entering his new office at 10 Downing Street on Tuesday morning, Rishi Sunak completed certain religious rites, as seen in a video that has leaked.

Sunak was spotted taking something out of his pants pocket and lighting oil lamps that had been set outside of his office. Sunak was elected prime minister on Monday after his rivals withdrew from the race.

He was elected as Britain’s third prime minister this year, making him the country’s first person of color in that position.

At 42 years old, Sunak is the youngest prime minister in the history of the United Kingdom and the first person of Indian or Asian descent to lead the Conservative Party after receiving at least 100 nominations.

In his inaugural speech, which he delivered after defeating Liz Truss in the summer leadership contest, he stated that the nation is facing “deep economic issues.”

In his first address to the nation on Tuesday, Sunak promised: “I will unite our country not with words, but with action.” Sunak made this promise in a broadcast announcement in front of 10 Downing Street.

Further, he continued his speech and said, “I have been elected as leader of my party and your Prime Minister in part to fix them. This will mean difficult decisions to come.”
