Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has been accused by a family member of being held in a “torture room” by the Department of State Services, DSS.
One of the agitator’s brothers, Kanunta Kanu, said that Kanu had not been released despite court orders.
He was responding to the Federal High Court’s decision in Umuahia to send Kanu back to Kenya.
Kanu’s extraordinary rendition, according to the court, violated his fundamental rights.

It commanded that the IPOB leader be returned to the condition in which he was before to his arrest in Kenya and extraordinary rendition last year.
Recall that Kanu was detained in Kenya last year and returned to Nigeria.
Last year, the IPOB leader was allegedly subjected to extraordinary rendition by the Nigerian government.
Kanu was imprisoned by the Department of State Services, DSS, upon his return to Nigeria while dealing with legal battles.
Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s special counsel, filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian government in order to achieve this.
The court granted all seven of Ejimakor’s requests on Wednesday.

Reacting, Kanunta tweeted: “Some people are having the notion that #MaziNnamdiKanu has being released from detention the answer is NO, he is still in DSS “torture chamber”.
“When will @NGRPresident and @GovNigeria obey the court orders? @StateDept @FCDOGovUK @CanadianPM @EU_Commission @UN @UKParliament.”
