UPDATE: Jabi Lake Mall Shuts Down Over Risk Of Terror Attacks

In response to security risks in the Federal Capital Territory, the management of Abuja’s well-known Jabi Lake Mall has suspended operations.

This information was made public on Thursday in a post on the mall’s @jabilakemallnigeria social media page.

The administration declared that it would shortly reopen while monitoring the security situation with the proper authorities.

The declaration is made in light of security assessments by the US and other western nations that indicate there is a significant risk of terrorist strikes in Abuja Federal Capital Territory.

Government buildings and other locations with big gatherings of people would be targeted in the attacks, according to the warnings.

The post read, “To all our valued shoppers, Jabi Lake Mall will be closed today, Thursday, 27 October 2022. This decision has been taken in the overall interest of the safety of all staff and customers of the mall.

“Centre Management is committed to minimising any disruptions; however, the safety of our staff and shoppers remains our highest priority. Management is constantly reviewing the security situation in consultation with relevant security authorities and will inform you when the mall will be re-opened.
