Kanye Omari West, often known as Kanye West or Ye, is an American rapper and fashion designer who lost $2 billion in 24 hours as a result of firms cutting relations with him due to his anti-Semitic remarks.
This comes less than 48 hours after Forbes, an American business publication, said that Kanye was no longer included on its list of billionaires as a result of the termination of his lucrative contract with Adidas.
Balenciaga, MRC (the entertainment company shelved an almost completed Ye documentary), his talent agency CAA, Adidas, Jaylen Brown and Aaron Donald, Foot Locker, The RealReal, T.J. Maxx, and Madame Tussauds are among the companies that have so far severed their relations with Kanye.
Kanye West Loses Billionaire Status Over Antisemitism Comments
The rapper responded to the setback by explaining in a statement on Instagram that the individuals are who he is, not the money.
He wrote, ”I lost 2 billion dollars in one day, and I’m still alive. This is love speech, I still loves you; the money is not who I am, the people is who I am.”
Additionally, Kanye’s comments caused his school, Donda Academy, to be disqualified from a high school competition.
