2023: Atiku Leads Obi, Tinubu In Social Media Following

In a survey of other candidates’ social media visibility, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee for president, is currently in the lead.

Anaedoonline.ng learned that Atiku gathered six million out of the 12 million social media presence registered on the different authenticated social media platforms of the candidates as of Friday.

The number of people engaging with the presidential candidates on social media platforms was 49% higher for the former vice president, who had five million Twitter followers under the @atiku handle, 1.2 million Facebook fans, and 447,000 Instagram followers.

On average, Atiku posted at least once per day, according to a look at his pages on Friday.

The Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who is running for president, came in second with 2.3 million Twitter, 636,000 Facebook, and 430,000 Instagram followers, or 26% of all politically minded internet users.
Obi posted on social media at least three times every day on average, according to his profiles.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressive Congress, received 14% of all social media followers, according to a visit to his social media pages, which revealed that he had 1.4 million Twitter, 264,000 Facebook, and 147,000 Instagram followers. On Thursday, Tinubu published two brand-new tweets, his first since Saturday, October 22, 2022.

Four percent of all social media users followed Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and presidential hopeful for the New Nigeria Peoples Party. On Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, Kwankwaso has 259,000, 185,000, and 18,000 followers, respectively.

Comparatively speaking, Atiku had a stronger social media presence than Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party, Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress, and Kola Abiola of the Peoples Redemption Party.

On Twitter, Adebayo had 12,500 followers; on Facebook, 104; and on Instagram, 2,496. His total number of followers was 572, or 0.11 percent.

Sowore had 387,364 Facebook fans, 814,000 Twitter followers, and 194,000 Instagram followers.
He had 582,000 followers in total, which was 5% of the candidates’ popularity on social media.

Abiola had 338 followers on Instagram and 234 on Twitter. However, a Facebook search for Abiola turned up numerous accounts with his name and photo that were not verified and had few or no followers.
