Alkali Baba Usman, the IGP, has issued a warning to foreign nations regarding the terror threat in Nigeria.

Usman advised other nations to stop alerting the people to terrorist threats.

The current terror notice, according to the police chief, ought to have only been communicated to law enforcement.

A security warning was issued by the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom.

They advised their people to avoid Abuja owing to the anticipated terrorist strikes in a travel alert.

Additionally, they advised their citizens to leave Abuja until the terror risk was resolved.

But the IGP gave the populace reassurances about their security.

The IGP gave a speech on Saturday during the opening of a police station and barracks in Ibusa, Delta State’s Oshimili North Local Government Area.

He said, “How can you enter the country and said there is security alert, you didn’t inform the police, and you go around telling your people; don’t go to Abuja, return from Abuja.

“When you have information on security, it is proper to inform the police and we will find a way to tackle it, instead of taking it to the public.

“We are working in synergy with other security agencies to ensure the safety of residents.”
