Police Commissioner General Ousman Baba has instructed Osun Commander Olale Faleye to investigate the alleged assault by her DCO Ajay Mathew on Police Inspector Bamidere Olorunsogo in the province’s Ode Om district.
This was after videos showing Bamidale being dehumanized and abused went viral on her social media.
In the video, Bamidel accused Matthew, a senior colleague at Odeom Police Headquarters in Osun State, of assault and extortion.
The policewoman alleged that Matthew had asked her out to be his girlfriend, a request to which she refused on the grounds that she was married, but Matthew continued to blackmail and ended up assaulting her
She said, “What is my offence? He started beating me to the extent, he stripped me. Look at my chest, arms, everywhere, there are injuries. He’s Ajayi Matthew. He asked me out, that I should befriend him. I said no, that I’m a married woman.

“He started blackmailing me, claiming that he’s my lover, which is not true.”
Efforts to reach Matthews to comment on the allegation were futile, as the policeman didn’t take calls to his phone by our correspondent.
Meanwhile, Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, when contacted by our correspondent on Wednesday, said the Force Headquarters will await a report of the investigation from the Osun State Command, and take necessary actions on the matter.
“We will await the report of the investigation from the Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken.
“We, however, assure the general public that justice will be done on this case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF,” Adejobi said.
