The All Progressives Congress’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, revealed on Wednesday that disappointed contenders who are still stinging from losing the presidential primary have the right to express their issues.

Even as he guaranteed that the APC leadership is working hard to unify the disgruntled party members and chieftains ahead of the 2023 election,

Morka made the statement on Wednesday afternoon during an appearance on ‘Talk Point,’ a prominent political program on Lagos Television.

Tinubu received 1,271 votes in the previous primary to secure the presidential ticket at stake.

At the party’s Special National Convention in Abuja, he defeated former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and 11 other hopefuls.

The campaign for the presidential flag bearer began with 23 candidates, but nine dropped out just before the convention began voting.

Osinbajo, who had a falling out with his estranged godfather, distanced himself from Tinubu’s presidential bid.

Former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi was another APC ex-aspirant who ruffled feathers when he claimed that delegates who voted in the party’s presidential primaries were bribed to affect the decision.

Morka, in response to the alleged cold war and casual approach of the disgruntled stalwarts to Tinubu’s campaign, stated that the party is not resting on its oars in its bid to reconcile all camps before the 2023 election.

The APC publicity secretary said, “I am not aware of any war, let alone a cold or hot one. People went into primaries to compete and find favour with the electorate, in this case, the primary voters in our party. At the end of it, Asiwaju prevailed and I think that every other aspirant has the right if they choose to have that momentary period they disagree on why they didn’t win.

“We are working on the inside to address the dissatisfaction or disaffection we may have from some of our members who may be aggrieved. We are working hard to bring them together.”

Morka further remarked that, contrary to popular belief, Tinubu’s ongoing dialogue with important stakeholders is sufficient indication that the ruling party is more than prepared for the 2023 election.
