Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has encouraged Nigerians not to vote for him in next year’s election based on ethnic or entitlement attitudes.

Speaking on Sunday on Arise TV’s presidential Town Hall series, the former Anambra State Governor said Nigerians should vote for him not because “it is his turn,” but because of the competence he brings.

While emphasizing that it is nobody’s turn but the youth and women’s, Obi stated that he has the ability to lead Nigeria out of its current dilemma and that Nigerians should support him on that basis.

“I want you to vote for Peter Obi because I am qualified. Because I am competent. I know what I can do to put this country out of the brink,” he said.

Obi emphasized the importance of strengthening and revitalizing the country’s local vigilante system, as well as collaborating with the police, to address Nigeria’s security concerns.

He added that he will offer a functioning vigilante system for each community, as well as vehicles, communication equipment, and a link to cooperate with police.
