Ned Nwoko, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Delta North senatorial district (Anioma), has suggested Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike should be booted out of the party.

Nwoko made this comment on his way back from Abuja on Monday at the Asaba airport.

Wike, he claims, has been a thorn in the side of the PDP.

He went on to say that the Rivers state governor has done a lot of damage to the party and should be given the door.

He said, “Wike is a nuisance, quote me anywhere. If I were [in] the leadership of the party, I would have acted differently. I would have done things differently. He has done a lot of damage to the PDP and I don’t know what they are waiting for to show him the way out.”

Recall that Wike and the G-5 Governors have been spearheading the campaign for the resignation of the PDP’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, to allow for the election of a Southern Chairman in accordance with the party’s zoning scheme.

The governors have also boycotted Atiku Abubakar’s PDP presidential campaign events.

Governor Ortom, on the other hand, hosted Governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo state for the commissioning of projects in the state on Sunday evening at the Makurdi Airport.

It was the first time the five powerful governors of Benue State had met as a group.

Aside from commissioning projects, it was learned that the five governors would hold planned routine meetings to fine-tune their tactics ahead of the 2023 elections.
